Formed Wire

A formed wire is a type of wire that has been formed through a process known as wire forming. The method is to apply force to change the contour of a wire using various techniques. They all remain characteristic in imparting a specific type to a formed type. Chamfering, swaging, shearing, piercing, and other methods are examples of these techniques. Wire forming is for creating a variety of configurations, forms, and shapes. The procedure carried out using a coiled wire. The wire is straight before being formed.

Here are some types of materials used in this process:
brass, steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and various alloy. The wire diameters range from half a millimeter to 6.5 millimeters, or from 1/64th of an inch to a quarter inch. They would create formed wires in two and three dimensions.

What is Formed Wire

A formed wire is a finished shaped wire. It can manufacture into a specific configuration using a wire spool. It can take almost any shape required for the application. They incorporate many springs of varying sizes. These range in size from very small to quite large. More detailed, a formed wire is an extracted length of wire has an exterior force.
